UK architectural design and engineering firm Foster + Partners has unveiled the designs for the new headquarters of robotics company DJI, in Shenzhen, China.
The new building is currently under construction and its design challenges the traditional idea of office space to form a creative community in the sky.
The new building will feature twin towers linked by a sky bridge that will be used to showcase the latest drone technology.
The floors will be arranged in floating volumes cantilevered from central cores by large steel mega-trusses. This will create large, column-free spaces, including quadruple-height drone flight testing labs.
The building will also provide research and development spaces, exhibition areas and even robot fighting rings.
Foster + Partners studio head Grant Brooker said: “Our aim is to create a unique workplace environment that embodies the spirit of invention and innovation that has allowed DJI to lead the world in robotics and technology.”
