Ferrovial, via PLW Waterworks, has secured construction contracts for three water treatment plants projects in Texas, US.

The contracts put together are worth $279m.

Georgetown, San Angelo, and Laredo have chosen PLW Waterworks to implement water treatment projects.

PLW Waterworks is a subsidiary of Webber and Cadagua that focuses on waterworks.

Georgetown has awarded a contract worth $175m.

The contract will see construction and commissioning of the new plant’s structures, a new water intake, and a pumping station on South Lake.

This project is anticipated to be completed by 2026.

San Angelo has awarded contract to upgrade the Hickory groundwater treatment plant.

Increasing the infrastructure’s capacity from 30 million liters per day to over 45 million liters per day, this contract, with a value of $53m, is scheduled to be completed in 2024.

This work involves construction and commissioning of one triplex low-head pump station, two new precast concrete clear wells, and the extension of the oxidation contractor system.

The Laredo contract is worth $51m.

This contract involves construction of a wastewater treatment plant with a capacity of 18 million liters per day (4.75 MGD) as well as a gravity outfall pipe to transport the treated water to Manadas Creek Tributary 2 in Laredo.

These three projects enhance Spain-based Ferrovial’s Horizon 24 plan, under which US is identified as an important market.
