Rio Grande Pacific Corporation (RGPC) has chosen engineering and construction companies for the final engineering and construction of the Uinta Basin Railway in Utah, US.

The company has made the selection through its Rio Grande Pacific Group portfolio company Basin Railway Constructors.

An 85-mile-long common-carrier railway, Uinta Basin Railway, once operational, will offer the first-ever common-carrier railway service to Uinta Basin region of northeastern Utah.

In December 2021, development and operation of the Uinta Basin Railway project was sanctioned by the US Surface Transportation Board.

The railway will help mineral, energy, agricultural, construction, and manufacturing industries in the basin.

In 2018, the railway project was initiated by the Seven County Infrastructure Coalition, a political subdivision of the State of Utah.
