Encompass Health has announced its plans to construct a 50-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Norristown, Pennsylvania, US.

The hospital will be situated at 2660 Audubon Road in Lower Providence Township.

Apart from local acute care services, the hospital will provide treatment and care to patients recovering from debilitating illnesses and injuries, including strokes and other neurological disorders, spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, amputations and orthopedic conditions.

It will provide nursing care round-the-clock.

The hospital will offer physical, occupational and speech therapies to help restore functional ability and quality of life among patients.

In addition to all the patient rooms being private, the hospital will feature a therapy gym with modern rehabilitation technologies, an activities of daily living suite, cafeteria, dining room, pharmacy and therapy courtyard.

Encompass Health Northeast region president Pat Tuer said: “We are excited to expand and grow our rehabilitation services in Southeast Pennsylvania.

Upon opening, this hospital will become Encompass Health’s tenth inpatient rehabilitation facility in Pennsylvania.
