Eiffage Construction has secured a contract for the construction of Joya commercial project in Fontenay-sous-Bois, Paris, on behalf of developers Européquipements and Quartus.

Located at the centre of the Val de Fontenay tertiary hub and directly linked to the East Paris multimodal transport hub, the 49,000m², eight-storey office building will include more than 4,000 workstations, a 127-seat auditorium and a 7,000m² of facilities such as dining areas, two VIP restaurants, fitness room and concierge service.

The architects ECDM have designed an indoor street formed from a double-height hall over seven metres high and 130m long mineral façade which combines high-performance glass and fibre-reinforced concrete, giving the project a unique edge.

The exterior will include three planted patios and wooded areas alongside the Boulevard Carnot for about 4,500m² of green space.

From the environmental point of view, the office building is claimed to set a high performance by aiming for double HQE Excellent and BREEAM Excellent certification and the Effinergie+ label.

Eiffage Construction deputy CEO Philippe Content said: “We are extremely proud that Europequipement and Quartus have selected us for this major commercial project in East Paris.

“Its design for superior energy performance clearly demonstrates our commitment to a new generation of highly technical and personalised, but also environmentally friendly office spaces.”

The office building project will be handled by Eiffage’s Grands Projets and it is expected to be delivered in the third quarter of 2022.

Last month, Eiffage announced that it is finalising phase 2 and is preparing for the third and final phase of the renovation of the Hôtel du Palais. The renovated hotel is expected to be unveiled in the spring of 2021.

The contract was won in 2018 and the scope of the work was divided into three phases. The first phase involved the renovation of the first half of the rooms between October 2018 and last June.

The second phase, which started last October, focused on the renovation of rooms, reception areas and the entire basement.
