T.Y. Lin International (TYLI), an infrastructure consulting firm, has announced receipt of a bid to provide Detailed Design Engineering (DED) for the new Bataan-Cavite Interlink Bridge in the Philippines.

This $59m contract was awarded to a joint venture of TYLI and Pyunghwa Engineering Consultants, which will work with Switzerland-based Renardet and the Philippines-based DCCD Engineering Corporation.

This project features a 32.15km-long, four-lane, cable-stayed bridge, which will cross the Manila Bay and connect Barangay Alas-asin in Mariveles, Bataan, and Barangay Timalan, Naic, Cavite.

The Detailed Design Engineering phase for the bridge will be conducted over the next 15 months.

Led by the project owner, the Philippines government, and to be implemented by the country’s Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), the Bataan-Cavite Interlink Bridge Project is being developed with funding from the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

This project includes the construction of two cable-stayed navigation bridges – the North Channel Bridge and South Channel Bridge, with main spans of 400m and 900m, respectively.
