Online retail marketplaces provider CoStar Group has broken ground on its corporate campus expansion in Richmond, Virginia.
With the extension of its campus that houses its research and technology centre, CoStar Group intends to create more 2,000 jobs to the region.

The new positions will open in research, technology, operations, software development, marketing, and sales.
The campus extension project will see a two new building-complex, spanning 750,000ft2, being constructed.
Situated on the James River’s banks, CoStar Group’s existing space at 501 S. 5th Street along with the two new buildings will lead to a completely integrated corporate campus of over one million ft2.
The complex will feature a 21-storey, LEED-certified office tower, and a five-storey multipurpose building.

The project will focus on decreasing carbon footprint and on-site energy production, and feature energy-efficient building systems and enclosures as part of the company’s commitment to sustainability.
Designed to rise with the hillside, the new complex will overlook the James River with almost 50,000ft2 of elevated green terraces that offer 360-degree views.
Among the planned amenities to be provided at the campus hub will include conference space, fitness and wellness capabilities, an auditorium, over 2.65 acres of outdoor green space and several shopping and restaurant options.
