Boston Properties (BXP) has announced the start of construction on 180 CityPoint in Waltham, Massachusetts, the US.

The new project is a 329,000ft² life sciences building which is located within the CityPoint district at 180 Third Avenue in Waltham.

The new six-story building further expands BXP Life Sciences’ portfolio in Waltham.

It will feature more than 310,000ft² of lab and office space along with over 19,000ft² of amenities and a floor of office space for tenants, available with flexible lease terms.

The development will also include boutique wellness centre with indoor basketball court, expansive outdoor roof deck, a food hall, shared meeting facilities and covered parking.

BXP stated that the 180 CityPoint project construction builds on its 4.9 million ft2 of lab and Class A office properties in the Waltham/Lexington region.

For the project, which is being constructed by Consigli Construction, Lemon Brooke is working as the landscape architect and Stantec as the architect of record.

Bala Consulting Engineers is working as the MEP engineer and McNamara Salvia as the structural engineer for 180 CityPoint, which will be owned and operated by Boston Properties.

Additionally, Sanborn Head is serving as the geotech engineer and VHB as the civil engineer.
