Indian Road Transport and Highways Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has announced the completion of a 250m (two-lane) viaduct project in Jammu and Kashmir, India.
Travel distance on the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway is expected to be reduced significantly as a result of this completion.
The development was carried out in conjunction with a 395m (two-lane) maroge tunnel in Jammu and Kashmir.
This development is estimated to be worth approximately Rs820m.
According to the minister, this infrastructure is located along the Ramban to Banihal portion of National Highway 44 (NH 44).
In a statement, Gadkari said: “This 645-metre segment, as part of the larger project, will not only shorten the travel distance by 200 metres, reducing steep gradients but also provide an alternative route bypassing the well-known Sita Ram Passi slide area.

In August last year, the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways launched an assessment of the construction quality and safety aspects of existing and under-construction road sections in the country.
