Bird Construction has awarded a contract worth $172m to Concert Properties to construct a residential tower development in Toronto, Ontario.
The development, named Sherbourne Project (Burke), comprises 53 floors and each suite features open living spaces, large balconies and interior finishes.

It also includes retail components along with an existing heritage building.
The residential part of the building includes 501 suites with a combination of studios, one-bedroom, two-bedroom, and 50 three-bedroom units, along with nearly 180 underground resident parking spaces.
Bird Construction stated that construction of the new residential tower will see use of green building practices and environmentally sound solutions as per LEED gold standard.

Last month, the company was awarded a contract to construct expansions at the Kenora Jail and the Thunder Bay Correctional Centre in Canada.
The expansions facilities will use Bird Construction’s integrated conventional site construction and innovative modular construction solutions through its partnership with Stack Modular.
