UK-based property development company Cole Waterhouse has secured planning consent from Salford City Council for its Anchorage Gateway development in the UK.
The project, designed by Chapman Taylor, will deliver 290 new apartments in Salford Quays. It has secured the outline consent in November last year.
The 250,640ft² project will re-develop the brownfield land on the corner of The Quay and Anchorage Quay that has been vacant for several years.
The 29-storey L-shaped residential scheme will include a mezzanine and 27 levels of residential accommodation offering one-, two- and three-bedroom homes.
The ground floor of the development includes 4,000ft² of commercial space and 2,500ft2 of residential amenity space and cycle storage facilities.
Cole Waterhouse said that on the mezzanine and at the 19th level will have two landscaped terrace gardens for residents and rooftop penthouse apartments with extensive private terraces.

By GlobalDataWork on the residential scheme is expected to commence early in 2021, following the appointment of the main contractor later this year.
Cole Waterhouse CEO Damian Flood said: “We look forward to appointing a contactor as soon as possible and starting the build programme which will not only deliver much-needed, high-quality homes but will also create new jobs and training opportunities for local people.”
The Anchorage Gateway development is said to be the company’s second residential development in the area following the 214,000ft2 No1 Old Trafford.
The two-tower 354-unit project is being constructed by Domis Construction and is expected to be completed early next year.
