Property development and investment firm British Land has commenced work to transform Exchange Square at Broadgate neighbourhood into a new public park in London, UK.
The 1.5-acre park will quadruple the amount of green space at Broadgate, a 32-acre central London neighbourhood jointly owned by British Land and GIC.

The reimagined Exchange Park, designed by London-based studio DSDHA, will include expansive green space, a mix of planting and trees, a stream flowing through it, amphitheatre seating and new retail and event spaces, which will be opened for all.
City of London Corporation Open Spaces and City Gardens Committee chairman Oliver Sells QC said: “London’s green spaces are more important now than ever before and are treasured by residents, workers and visitors alike.
“We’re pleased to support British Land’s plans for Exchange Square. This move aligns with our radical Climate Action Strategy which will make the City of London net zero emissions by 2040 – in part by increasing the amount of green space in the City.”
Enabling works on the new public park are already in progress while the site works are scheduled to begin in December.
