Construction group BESIX has been selected by commercial real estate company Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield (URW) to build the Tour Triangle in Paris, France.

The 180m-high Tour Triangle is designed by architects Herzog & De Meuron.

As part of the contract, BESIX’s in-house design office, BESIX Engineering, will provide planning, logistics and construction methods to minimise traffic congestion in the locality and the operation of the Parc des Expositions.

In addition, the design office team will perform execution studies for the structure and support those dedicated to the façade.

Once completed, Tour Triangle will house office space, a conference centre, a health centre, a cultural centre, a crèche, a hotel and a restaurant.

Slated to complete in 2026, the building will create 5,000 direct and indirect jobs.

BESIX Group deputy CEO Pierre Sironval said: “BESIX is very proud to build the Tour Triangle, a technically, logistically and architecturally demanding building.

“We are particularly grateful for the trust placed in us by Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield in awarding us the construction of this building. It joins the prestigious buildings built by BESIX around the world, including the Grand Egyptian Museum in Cairo and the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, the world’s tallest tower.”

Tour Triangle will comply with the BREEAM Excellent, HQE Exceptional environmental certifications, and the Effinergie label.

It will feature geothermal systems, a district heating network and energy and heat recovery systems, and a bioclimatic façade and 1,000m² photovoltaic panels.

The tower will mark the third high-rise building developed by BESIX in Paris after the Dexia (CBX) and Carpe Diem towers in the La Défense district.
