A consortium comprising Belgian construction firm BESIX Group, Six Construct and TGCC has received a contract to design and build the 250m-tall Bank of Africa Tower in Morocco.

The project is being developed by FinanceCom Group’s subsidiary O TOWER and is set to become one of the tallest buildings in Morocco.

BESIX and its partners will commence work month supported by China Railway Construction Corporation International (CRCCI). Work is scheduled to be completed by 30 May 2022.

The tower will have 55 floors, including a luxury hotel, offices and apartments. The structure is also expected to have a viewing terrace at the top.

“The Bank of Africa Tower will be an emblematic building for the country.”

The design was prepared by architects Rafael de la Hoz and Hakim Benjelloun.

BESIX Group’s CEO Rik Vandenberghe said: “The Bank of Africa Tower will be an emblematic building for the country. I am proud to see BESIX participating in its construction in Morocco, where it has been a pleasure to work in recent years. In the case of the Bank of Africa Tower, we can count on our solid expertise in high-rise construction.”
