Construction group BESIX has been appointed by commercial real estate firm Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield (URW) to construct the Tour Triangle in Paris, France.

Designed by architects Herzog & De Meuron, the 180m-high Tour Triangle will comply with the BREEAM Excellent, HQE Exceptional environmental certifications and the Effinergie label.

The company’s in-house design office, BESIX Engineering has developed the planning, logistics and construction methods for the new development to minimise the impact on local mobility and operation of the Parc des Expositions.

Additionally, the design office team will undertake execution studies for the structure and support those dedicated to the façade.

BESIX France director Andres Penaloza said: “The Tour Triangle is the latest addition to our ongoing projects in the Paris region. In perfect collaboration with URW, our engineering and operational teams have worked meticulously to optimise the construction process and deliver the high quality required by our client. All our teams are now mobilised.”

Slated to complete in 2026, the development will include a conference centre, a cultural centre, a hotel, a health centre, a restaurant, a crèche and office space.

It will also feature a district heating network, a bioclimatic façade, geothermal systems, and energy and heat recovery systems, as well as 1,000m² of photovoltaic panels.

The project is expected to create 5,000 direct and indirect jobs.

BESIX Group deputy CEO Pierre Sironval said: “BESIX is very proud to build the Tour Triangle, a technically, logistically and architecturally demanding building.

“It joins the prestigious buildings built by BESIX around the world, including the Grand Egyptian Museum in Cairo and the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, the world’s tallest tower.”

The company stated that the tower will be marked as the third high-rise building developed by BESIX in Paris after the Dexia (CBX) and Carpe Diem towers in the La Défense district.
