Blenheim Group has commenced site development activities for the new Bayberry Town Center in Middletown, Delaware, US.

The 280,000ft² planned mixed-use area will feature retail and office space located within the 1,500 acres of The Village of Bayberry, a master-planned community in Middletown developed by the group and featuring more than 3,000 homes.

The centre is set to be anchored by a 64,000ft² Weis Markets and fuel facility.

The space’s diverse array of tenants will include both full-service and fast-casual dining options, as well as a bank, pet store, spa, and nail salon.

Blenheim has also finalised leases with additional retail tenants and is in active discussions with others, with official announcements to be made in the near future.

Over the next few months, the initial phase of development is expected to focus on bulk earthwork, site grading, and the installation of utilities.

Construction of the Weis Markets store is scheduled to commence in late 2024, with the opening of Weis and several other stores anticipated in 2025.

Upon completion, Bayberry Town Center will include two green spaces designated for community events, and residential units comprising 145 townhomes.

Blenheim president Jay Sonecha said: “As we enter the next phase of development at the town centre, we are focused on delivering essential services and exciting dining concepts to our thriving community.

“With a large grocery store as our anchor, we are building a hub that reflects our commitment to enhancing daily life not only for residents in The Village of Bayberry but the larger community around us as well.”
