Homebuilder Avant Homes Scotland has announced its plans to build 170 homes on a 16.5-acre site acquired for an undisclosed amount in Rosyth, Scotland.

It has secured planning permission for the project off Admiralty Road.

The 170-home project, called Stewart’s Quarter, will be built as part of the larger Rosyth Garden Village master plan.

The Rosyth Garden Village scheme is a mixed-use development that includes up to 390 homes, retail units, offices, and sheltered housing.

With a gross development value of £43.85m ($55.85m), Stewart’s Quarter will feature a range of two to five-bedroom properties.

It will also include 13 energy-efficient detached and semi-detached homes.

The housebuilder itself is set to invest approximately £27m in the Stewart’s Quarter project, which is expected to support local businesses and communities over the next five years.

Avant Homes Scotland managing director Jim Wilkinson said: “We are very pleased to have been able to acquire what is an excellent residential development site in Rosyth. It is a great place to live which will be enhanced even further by the Rosyth Garden Village master plan.

“Our objective is to build quality new homes for everyone and our mix of practically designed, energy-efficient properties at Stewart’s Quarter available at a range of price points will ably demonstrate that.”

Work at Stewart’s Quarter has commenced.

A show home will open in September this year, with initial residents set to move in a month later.

During this month, the company also acquired a 22-acre site at Pleasley Hill Farm, Mansfield, UK, for an undisclosed amount to construct 396 homes
