Property developer Carmel Group and Aegis Aged Care Group are to undertake an A$100m ($71.70m) multi-generational development at the former Joondalup Basketball Stadium site in Australia.
The project will see the construction of homes, aged care, childcare, leisure and medical facilities on the 1.69ha location, which will be subdivided into three lots.
These sub-divisions intend to facilitate an integrated development connected by a shared public open space with walkways, play areas and a community garden.
Joondalup MLA Emily Hamilton said: “This is a development that will transform the face of our city centre, and provide a quality high-density development in the Joondalup CBD.
“This project will provide a boost to our local economy, deliver local jobs and foster multigenerational living – helping to build a stronger community.”
As part of the Joondalup project, a five-storey, 140-suite aged care centre with respite care facilities will be built. The facility will be owned and managed by Aegis Aged Care Group.
