Arada has submitted a series of planning applications to the London Borough of Newham for the first phase of the £2.5bn ($3.31bn) Thameside West regeneration scheme in East London, England.
The plans outline the first phase of development, featuring nearly 1,500 new homes across six buildings, along with a new waterfront park.

The Thameside West project, located in the Royal Docks area, covers more than 47 acres and is expected to deliver at least 5,000 homes.
The masterplan also calls for significant green spaces, the integration of local heritage features, and improved connectivity between the Thames and Royal Docks.
According to Arada, the proposals make use of existing hybrid planning permissions and outline a landscape-led strategy for developing the area.
Plans for the first phase reveal that the initial two buildings will be entirely dedicated to social rent housing, offering three and four-bedroom family homes.
The proposals also seek to improve pedestrian links by organising residences around streets, parks, gardens and shared spaces.
Ground-floor units next to the park are reserved for amenities such as cafés and restaurants.
At the heart of the scheme is a seven-acre park, supported by the planting of around 1,000 new trees.
This park is intended to serve both recreational and practical needs, with play areas, adventure trails and woodland spaces planned for children and families.
The site also includes a kilometre-long active waterfront and a riverside path along Bell Lane.
A group of 20 local residents is collaborating with Arada through a series of workshops to help shape part of the park’s design and ensure it meets community needs.
Efforts to connect the new neighbourhood with the wider city are also under way.
Arada is working with Transport for London to progress designs for a new Docklands Light Railway (DLR) station, with the intention of opening it for the arrival of the first residents.
The project is being delivered in collaboration with the Greater London Authority’s Royal Docks Team, with Gensler, Arup and Planit serving as advisers to the scheme.
London Deputy Mayor for Housing and Residential Development Tom Copley said: “By combining affordability, high-quality design and generous green spaces, Thameside West will transform a key brownfield site in the Royal Docks into a thriving new neighbourhood and help build a better, fairer London for everyone.”
In April 2026, Arada announced the launch of Jenna, a residential development within the Aljada community in Sharjah, UAE, with a total value of Dh35bn ($9.5bn).
