Ameresco Sunel Energy has commenced construction on the portfolio of multiple solar photovoltaic (PV) park projects of renewable energy producer Sonnedix in the UK.
Appointed as the design-build partner for the project, Ameresco is a joint venture between US-based renewable energy asset developer Ameresco and international contractor Sunel Group.

The five ground-mounted solar PV parks under construction are Lawns Solar Farm, Winkburn Solar Farm, Gammaton Solar Farm, Cowley Complex, and Gonerby Solar.
These projects are set to hold a total annual capacity of 300,000MWh of renewable power to provide sufficient electricity to 85,000 households while eliminating 58,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions each year.
Ameresco West/Europe general manager and executive vice-president Britta MacIntosh said: “We are thrilled to partner with Sunel as Sonnedix converts its UK project pipeline to deliver positive clean energy results that will benefit many individuals across the UK.”
