The Royal Commission for Riyadh City has announced the commencement of construction of the Al-Urubah Park in Saudi Arabia.
The 754,000m² Al-Urubah Park is part of the overarching Green Riyadh programme.

It will be located at the crossroads of Prince Turki Bin Abdulaziz Al-Awwal Road and Al Urubah Road.
The park is designed to elevate quality of life by offering recreational spaces for both residents and visitors.
Its design was selected through a global tender that attracted six international entries.
The chosen design incorporates a 3km panoramic path, elevated 12m.

The project’s initial design includes permanent water bodies and the Al Laysan Valley pass.
Facilities at the park will include a 14km walking trail, open spaces, green terraces, and venues for events and sports, catering to diverse age groups.
In addition, more than 600,000 trees and shrubs will be planted within the park, covering 65% of its total area.
The broader Green Riyadh programme aims to plant trees across residential neighbourhoods, develop parks, streets, and pedestrian pathways, and enhance public buildings and irrigation networks spanning 1,350km.
This initiative is a cornerstone of the Saudi Green Initiative and Saudi Vision 2030, aiming to plant ten billion trees across the kingdom.
Riyadh’s contribution to this target includes planting 7.5 million trees, aiming to increase the city’s green cover to 9% and per capita green space from 1.7m² to 28m².
The Green Riyadh programme is also expected to reduce urban temperatures, improve air quality, and elevate Riyadh’s status as one of the world’s most livable cities.
