Acorn Consortium has won the bid for building the new Velindre Cancer Centre in Cardiff in UK.

Velindre University NHS Trust has chosen Acorn to develop the new Velindre Cancer Centre, which will offer specialist cancer services across South East Wales.

This contract was awarded after a nine-month competition.

The consortium consists of Kier Places, Kajima Partnerships, Sacyr, Abrdn, Andrew Scott, White Arkitekter, Arup, MJ Medical, Turley, Studio Response, Camlins Landscape Architects, Osborne Clarke, Operis and Confab Lab.

Under the consortium, Kier will offer input into the construction phase, and following its completion, the company will provide hard facilities management services at the cancer centre.

Kier Places operations director Paul Jones said: “The new Velindre Cancer Centre is set to provide first-class facilities and care to people in the South East of Wales.
