February 2022 has seen an increase of 3.17% in the overall hiring activity when compared with January 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 3.66% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in February 2022, registering a decrease of 0.11% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in February 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 60.29% in February 2022, a 41.38% rise over the previous month. Computer and Information Analysts came in next, claiming a share of 16.18% in February 2022, marking an 83.33% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Computer Support Specialists with a share of 8.82% in February 2022, a 20% rise from January 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 105.26% in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s construction industry during February 2022 over previous month.
3M posted 14 IT jobs in February 2022 and registered an increase of 133.33% over the previous month, followed by Rockwell Automation with 8 jobs and a 33.33% growth. Caterpillar with 8 IT jobs and Plentific with 5 jobs, recorded a 300% rise and a flat growth, respectively, while Honeywell International recorded a 20% decline with 4 job postings during February 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in South & Central America’s construction industry
Brazil commanded a leading presence in the region’s construction industry IT hiring activity with a 38.24% share in February 2022, a 30% increase over January 2022. Colombia featured next with a 22.06% share, up 66.67% over the previous month. Costa Rica recorded a 20.59% share, a growth of 75% compared with January 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in February 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 73.53%, up by 61.29% from January 2022. Entry Level positions with a 16.18% share, registered a growth of 10% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 10.29% share, down 30% over January 2022.
