July 2022 has seen an increase of 3.89% in the overall hiring activity when compared with June 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 3.41% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in July 2022, registering a decrease of 0.16% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in July 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 35% in July 2022, a 50% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 35% in July 2022, marking a 75% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 12.5% in July 2022, a 66.67% rise from June 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 28% in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s construction industry during July 2022 over previous month.
Johnson Controls International posted 5 IT jobs in July 2022 and registered a flat growth over the previous month, followed by Honeywell International with 4 jobs and a flat growth. COWI with 4 IT jobs and 3M with 3 jobs, recorded a flat growth and an 80% drop, respectively, while Rockwell Automation recorded a 66.67% decline with 2 job postings during July 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in South & Central America’s construction industry
Brazil commanded a leading presence in the region’s construction industry IT hiring activity with a 30% share in July 2022, a 33.33% decrease over June 2022. Panama featured next with a 12.5% share, flat growth over the previous month. Chile recorded a 12.5% share, a growth of 66.67% compared with June 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 67.5%, down by 18.18% from June 2022. Mid Level positions with a 17.5% share, registered a decline of 22.22% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 15% share, down 14.29% over June 2022.
