August 2022 has seen a decrease of 1% in the overall hiring activity when compared with July 2022.

IT jobs accounted for a 4.03% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in August 2022, registering an increase of 0.47% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in August 2022

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in South & Central America with a share of 36.23% in August 2022, a 56.25% rise over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 33.33% in August 2022, marking a 64.29% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 18.84% in August 2022, a 333.33% rise from July 2022.

Top five construction companies in South & Central America’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 210% in the overall IT recruitment activity of South & Central America’s construction industry during August 2022 over previous month.

Honeywell International posted 11 IT jobs in August 2022 and registered an increase of 175% over the previous month, followed by Rockwell Automation with 6 jobs and a 200% growth. Jones Lang LaSalle with 5 IT jobs and Caterpillar with 5 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 150% rise, respectively, while Ausenco recorded a 100% increase with 4 job postings during August 2022.

Brazil commanded a leading presence in the region’s construction industry IT hiring activity with a 24.64% share in August 2022, a 54.55% increase over July 2022. Argentina featured next with a 20.29% share, up 600% over the previous month. Colombia recorded an 18.84% share, a growth of 333.33% compared with July 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 71.01%, up by 88.46% from July 2022. Entry Level positions with a 15.94% share, registered a growth of 83.33% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 13.04% share, flat growth over July 2022.
