July 2022 has seen a decrease of 4.1% in the overall hiring activity when compared with June 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 4.46% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in July 2022, registering an increase of 0.23% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in July 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 38.33% in July 2022, an 8.08% rise over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 26.24% in July 2022, marking a 0.72% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 14.43% in July 2022, an 114.17% rise from June 2022.

Top five construction companies in North America’s IT recruitment activity in July 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 63.2% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s construction industry during July 2022 over previous month.
CDM Smith posted 569 IT jobs in July 2022 and registered an increase of 99.65% over the previous month, followed by Black & Veatch with 461 jobs and a 343.27% growth. Honeywell International with 195 IT jobs and Komatsu with 163 jobs, recorded a 31.82% drop and a 34.54% drop, respectively, while Johnson Controls International recorded a flat growth with 120 job postings during July 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s construction industry
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s construction industry IT hiring activity with an 89.63% share in July 2022, an 8.56% increase over June 2022. Canada featured next with an 8.59% share, down 15.78% over the previous month. Mexico recorded a 1.77% share, a drop of 14.47% compared with June 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in July 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 51.83%, up by 0.48% from June 2022. Mid Level positions with a 35.68% share, registered a growth of 17.1% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 11.05% share, down 13.09% over June 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 1.45%, recording a month-on-month growth of 1666.67%.
