IT jobs accounted for a 4.37% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in October 2022, registering an increase of 0.22% over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in October 2022

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Middle East & Africa with a share of 40% in October 2022, a flat growth over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 38.57% in October 2022, marking a 42.11% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 12.86% in October 2022, a 25% drop from September 2022.

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 26.47% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Middle East & Africa’s construction industry during October 2022 over previous month.

Dar Al-Handasah Consultants Shair and Partners Holdings posted 18 IT jobs in October 2022 and registered an increase of 20% over the previous month, followed by Honeywell International with 10 jobs and a 150% growth. Majid Al Futtaim Holding with 9 IT jobs and Hatch with 3 jobs, recorded a 12.5% rise and a flat growth, respectively, while Jones Lang LaSalle recorded a 25% decline with 3 job postings during October 2022.

Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Middle East & Africa’s construction industry

United Arab Emirates commanded a leading presence in the region’s construction industry IT hiring activity with a 24.29% share in October 2022, a 32% decrease over September 2022. Egypt featured next with a 12.86% share, up 12.5% over the previous month. Lebanon recorded an 11.43% share, a growth of 100% compared with September 2022.

Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 72.86%, up by 4.08% from September 2022. Mid Level positions with a 22.86% share, registered a decline of 11.11% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 4.29% share, down 57.14% over September 2022.
