US-based company Caterpillar’s IT hiring declined 9.0% in June 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The company’s overall hiring activity declined by 13.05% in June 2022 when compared with May 2022.
IT jobs claimed an 11.17% share in the company’s total hiring activity in June 2022, and recorded a 0.4% growth over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops Caterpillar IT hiring in June 2022
Out of the total IT job titles posted by Caterpillar, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 41.86% in June 2022, and a 3.57% drop over May 2022, while Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a share of 23.26% in June 2022, and registered a decline of 37.5%. Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 12.4% in June 2022, a 15.79% drop from May 2022.

North America emerged as the leading region in the global construction IT hiring activity in June 2022 with a 54.26% share, which marked a 5.41% drop over the previous month.
Asia-Pacific stood next with 34.11%, registering a 27.87% month-on-month decline. Europe was the third leading region with a 7.75% share and a 233.33% rise over May 2022.
In the fourth place was South & Central America with a share of 2.33% and a month-on-month increase of 50%. Middle East & Africa stood at the bottom of the table with a share of 1.55%, registering a flat growth over the previous month.
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s construction industry IT hiring activity with a 49.61% share in June 2022, an 11.11% decline over May 2022. India featured next with a 24.81% share, down 25.58% over the previous month. China recorded a 6.98% share, a decline of 35.71% compared with May 2022.
Junior Level jobs lead Caterpillar IT hiring activity in June 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 54.26%, up by 9.38% from May 2022. Mid Level positions with a 38.76% share, a decline of 19.35% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 6.98% share, down 35.71% over May 2022.
