US-based company Caterpillar’s IT hiring declined 4.1% in August 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The company’s overall hiring activity increased by 0.84% in August 2022 when compared with July 2022.

IT jobs claimed a 9.51% share in the company’s total hiring activity in August 2022, and recorded a 1.33% decline over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops Caterpillar IT hiring in August 2022

Out of the total IT job titles posted by Caterpillar, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 42.34% in August 2022, and a 7.41% rise over July 2022, while Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a share of 32.85% in August 2022, and registered growth of 40.63%. Computer and Information Analysts held a share of 13.14% in August 2022, a 20% rise from July 2022.

Asia-Pacific drives IT hiring at Caterpillar

Asia-Pacific emerged as the leading region in the global construction IT hiring activity in August 2022 with a 48.91% share, which marked a 59.52% rise over the previous month.

North America stood next with 43.8%, registering a 21.05% month-on-month decline. South & Central America was the third leading region with a 3.65% share and a 150% rise over July 2022.

In the fourth place was Europe with a share of 2.19% and a month-on-month decline of 50%. Middle East & Africa stood at the bottom of the table with a share of 1.46%, registering a 100% rise over the previous month.

The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s construction industry IT hiring activity with a 42.34% share in August 2022, a 21.62% decline over July 2022. India featured next with a 37.23% share, up 75.86% over the previous month.

Junior Level jobs lead Caterpillar IT hiring activity in August 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 56.93%, up by 4% from July 2022. Mid Level positions with a 32.85% share, a growth of 18.42% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with a 10.22% share, flat growth over July 2022.
