The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 9.92% in August 2022 when compared with July 2022.
Out of the construction industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 4.6% share in August 2022, recording a decrease of 0.25% over the last three-month average share.

Top five construction companies in Canada’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 28.14% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Canada’s construction industry during August 2022 over July 2022.
Komatsu posted 136 IT jobs in August 2022 and registered a rise of 49.45% over the previous month, followed by PCL Constructors with 90 jobs and a 4.65% growth. Hatch with 16 IT jobs and Colliers International Group with 7 jobs, recorded a 5.88% decline and a 133.33% growth, respectively, while ATS Automation Tooling Systems recorded an increase of 200% with 6 job postings during August 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 70.37%, up by 6.54% from July 2022. Mid Level positions with a 15.12% share, registered a decline of 15.52% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 13.89% share, up 9.76% over July 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.62%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
