The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 0.08% in August 2022 when compared with July 2022.
Out of the construction industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 4.61% share in August 2022, recording a decrease of 0.25% over the last three-month average share.

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 93.43% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia’s construction industry in August 2022.

Top five construction companies in Australia’s IT recruitment activity in August 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 33.33% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Australia’s construction industry during August 2022 over July 2022.
Komatsu posted 17 IT jobs in August 2022 and registered a flat growth over the previous month, followed by Downer EDI with 13 jobs and a 30% growth. Arup Group with 9 IT jobs and Aurecon Group with 9 jobs, recorded an 800% growth and a 50% growth, respectively, while KBR recorded a flat growth with 8 job postings during August 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 64.23%, down by 8.33% from July 2022. Entry Level positions with a 22.63% share, registered an increase of 6.9% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Mid Level job ads with 10.95% share, down 16.67% over July 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 2.19%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
