IT jobs accounted for a 5.91% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in January 2022, registering an increase of 0.02% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in January 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 66.46% in January 2022, a 2.85% drop over the previous month. Miscellaneous Computer Occupations came in next, claiming a share of 11.48% in January 2022, marking a 7.14% month-on-month increase. In the third place was Database and Network Administrators and Architects with a share of 9.05% in January 2022, a 15.03% drop from December 2022.

By GlobalDataComputer and Information Analysts registered a share of 6.05% in January 2022, a 24.29% rise over the previous month.
Top five construction companies in Asia-Pacific’s IT recruitment activity in January 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 0.16% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s construction industry during January 2022 over previous month.
Honeywell International posted 362 IT jobs in January 2022 and registered a decline of 2.69% over the previous month, followed by General Electric with 86 jobs and a 33.85% drop. Eaton Corporation with 61 IT jobs and NV Bekaert with 58 jobs, recorded a 69.44% rise and a 31.82% rise, respectively, while Monadelphous Group recorded a 40% increase with 56 job postings during January 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s construction industry
India commanded a leading presence in the region’s construction industry IT hiring activity with a 61.73% share in January 2022, a 0.67% decrease over December 2022. China featured next with a 10.93% share, down 30.22% over the previous month. Australia recorded a 10.86% share, a growth of 43.12% compared with December 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in January 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 58.59%, down by 3.22% from December 2022. Mid Level positions with a 29.3% share, registered a decline of 6.44% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 11.76% share, up 29.01% over December 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.35%, recording a month-on-month decline of 50%.
