October 2022 has seen a decrease of 7.95% in the overall hiring activity when compared with September 2022.
IT jobs accounted for a 5.76% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in October 2022, registering a decrease of 0.8% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in October 2022
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in Asia-Pacific with a share of 42.34% in October 2022, a 45.09% drop over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 25.42% in October 2022, marking a 21.84% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Computer and Information Analysts with a share of 12.71% in October 2022, a 46.03% drop from September 2022.

Top five construction companies in Asia-Pacific’s IT recruitment activity in October 2022
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average decline of 37.52% in the overall IT recruitment activity of Asia-Pacific’s construction industry during October 2022 over previous month.
Larsen & Toubro posted 83 IT jobs in October 2022 and registered a decline of 62.95% over the previous month, followed by General Electric with 80 jobs and a 66.67% growth. Caterpillar with 66 IT jobs and Jones Lang LaSalle with 58 jobs, recorded a 10% rise and a 14.71% drop, respectively, while Honeywell International recorded a 62.42% decline with 56 job postings during October 2022.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in Asia-Pacific’s construction industry
India commanded a leading presence in the region’s construction industry IT hiring activity with a 61.21% share in October 2022, a 32.82% decrease over September 2022. Australia featured next with a 16.07% share, down 11.34% over the previous month. China recorded a 7.48% share, a drop of 22.33% compared with September 2022.
Junior Level job postings dominate in October 2022
Junior Level jobs held a share of 64.58%, down by 31.79% from September 2022. Mid Level positions with a 26.26% share, registered a decline of 36.71% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 8.69% share, down 45.93% over September 2022, while Senior postings accounted for 0.47%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
