Switzerland-based company ABB’s IT hiring rose 10.5% in May 2022 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.

The company’s overall hiring activity increased by 9.28% in May 2022 when compared with April 2022.

IT jobs claimed a 7.58% share in the company’s total hiring activity in May 2022, and recorded a 0.5% decline over the last three-month average share.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops ABB IT hiring in May 2022

Out of the total IT job titles posted by ABB, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 46.96% in May 2022, and a 10.2% rise over April 2022, while Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a share of 22.61% in May 2022, and registered a decline of 25.71%. Computer Support Specialists held a share of 20% in May 2022, a 21.05% rise from April 2022.

Europe drives IT hiring at ABB

Europe emerged as the leading region in the global construction IT hiring activity in May 2022 with a 40% share, which marked a 12.2% rise over the previous month.

Asia-Pacific stood next with 32.17%, registering a 17.78% month-on-month decline. North America was the third leading region with a 25.22% share and a 21.62% drop over April 2022.

In the fourth place was South & Central America with a share of 1.74% and a month-on-month increase of 100%. Middle East & Africa stood at the bottom of the table with a share of 0.87%, registering a flat growth over the previous month.

The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s construction industry IT hiring activity with a 21.74% share in May 2022, a 13.79% decline over April 2022. India featured next with an 18.26% share, down 12.5% over the previous month. Poland recorded an 18.26% share, an increase of 75% compared with April 2022.

Junior Level jobs lead ABB IT hiring activity in May 2022

Junior Level jobs held a share of 55.65%, down by 11.11% from April 2022. Entry Level positions with a 23.48% share, a growth of 35% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Mid Level job ads with a 20.87% share, down 27.27% over April 2022.
