A total of 23 cross border deals worth $5.81bn were announced for the region during Q1 2021, against the last four-quarter average of 18.25 deals.
Of all the deal types, M&A saw most activity in Q1 2021 with 18 deals, representing a 78.3% share for the region.

In terms of value of cross border deals, M&A was the leading category in North America’s construction & real estate industry with $3.7bn, while private equity and venture financing deals totalled $2.04bn and $75m, respectively.
