The industry’s overall hiring increased by 4.55% in August 2021 when compared with July 2021.

Out of the construction industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 3.51% share in August 2021, recording an increase of 0.09% over the last three-month average share.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 49.2% in August 2021, registering an 18.67% decline over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed an 18.27% share, a decrease of 52.87% over the previous month.

3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 14.94%, registering a 16.26% decline from July 2021.

4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 7.65%, down 45.85% over the previous month.

Top five construction companies in the US’s IT recruitment activity in August 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 8.58% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of the US’s construction industry during August 2021 over July 2021.

Black & Veatch posted 261 IT jobs in August 2021 and registered a drop of 27.9% over the previous month, followed by CBRE Group with 114 jobs and a 26.92% drop. NANA RegionalInc with 105 IT jobs and KBR with 65 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 25% flat growth, respectively, while Jones Lang LaSalle recorded a decline of 42.25% with 41 job postings during August 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 55.43%, down by 0.44% from July 2021. Mid Level positions with a 21.91% share, registered a decline of 56.55% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 19.01% share, up 108.11% over July 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 3.64%, recording a month-on-month decline of 50%.
