August 2021 has seen an increase of 4.57% in the overall hiring activity when compared with July 2021.
IT jobs accounted for a 0.14% share in the industry’s total hiring activity in August 2021, registering an increase of 0.02% over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations leads by classification in August 2021
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers Occupations emerged as the leading IT occupation in North America with a share of 57.06% in August 2021, a 51.56% rise over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in next, claiming a share of 10.59% in August 2021, marking a 21.74% month-on-month decline. In the third place was Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a share of 9.41% in August 2021, a 300% rise from July 2021.
Computer and Information Analysts registered a share of 8.24% in August 2021, a 75% rise over the previous month.
Top five food service companies in North America’s IT recruitment activity in August 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average growth of 69.33% in the overall IT recruitment activity of North America’s food service industry during August 2021 over previous month.
McDonald’s posted 45 IT jobs in August 2021 and registered an increase of 125% over the previous month, followed by Starbucks with 34 jobs and a 25.93% growth. Compass Group with 23 IT jobs and Chick-fil-A with 16 jobs, recorded a 53.33% rise and a 77.78% rise, respectively, while Yum! Brands recorded a 125% increase with 9 job postings during August 2021.
Country-wise composition of IT hiring in North America’s food service industry
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s food service industry IT hiring activity with a 96.47% share in August 2021, a 45.13% increase over July 2021. Canada featured next with a 3.53% share, up 20% over the previous month.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 60.59%, up by 45.07% from July 2021. Mid Level positions with a 27.06% share, registered a growth of 58.62% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 11.18% share, up 5.56% over July 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 1.18%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
