The industry’s overall hiring an increased by 0.61% in June 2021 compared with May 2021.
Out of the construction industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 5.76% share in June 2021, recording decrease of 0.95% over the last three-month average share.

By GlobalData1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 54.55% in June 2021, a 64.13% drop over the previous month.
2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 13.22% share, decline of 50% over the previous month.
3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 10.74%, registering a 62.86% decline from May 2021.
4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 8.26%, down 16.67% over the previous month.
Top five construction companies in Canada IT recruitment activity in June 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 64.29% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Canada construction industry during June 2021 over May 2021.
Hatch posted 30 IT jobs in June 2021 and registered a rise of 100% over the previous month, followed by WSP Global with 19 jobs and a 5% drop. Stantec with 14 IT jobs and SNC-Lavalin Group with 11 jobs, recorded a 92.43% drop and a 175% increase, respectively, while SYSTRA MVA Consulting (India) recorded a flat growth with 6 job postings during June 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 61.16%, down by 50% from May 2021. Mid Level positions with a 19.83% share, a decline of 78.38% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 15.7% share, up 58.33% over May 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 3.31%, recording a month-on-month decline of 20%.
