Aarhus, the second largest city of Denmark, has given approval to 3XN to construct a residential tower that will become the second tallest building after the city’s cathedral.
The city’s municipal council has granted approval for the development of the residential building, La Tour Tower.

The Aarhus Cathedral is 96m tall and the residential tower is just one metre shorter.
The tower will replace the old La Tour hotel on Randersvej, reported Jyllands-Posten.
3XN’s design comprises a 31-storey tall tower and its base incorporates a five-storey semi-circular structure.
The tower will be the tallest residential building in the city and is set to feature 300 units.

La Tour Tower comprises 22,500m² area spread across 31 storeys.
3XN founder Kim Herforth Nielsen was quoted by Dezeen.com as saying: "La Tour responds to its specific location and will contribute to the surrounding neighbourhood on many levels and in a positive way."
"We paid particular attention to the building scale, so that it is both distinctive and visible in the city, but also embraces the local environment in one fluid motion," Nielsen added.
3XN stated that the tower will provide an affordable housing for families.
Unlike a regular tower, the property will have a staggered structure with scope for several terraces, thereby providing residents view across the skyline.
