Webuild’s subsidiary Fisia Italimpianti has secured a $144m engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for three water treatment plants in Paraguay.
This contract bolsters the company’s role as a builder of projects that support sustainable development.

Fisia Italimpianti will develop the plants within the complex of a new pulp mill, close to the Paraguay River near the city of Concepción.
Work is anticipated to commence in the first semester of next year.
The company will construct a plant to treat river water at a capacity of 7,000 m3 per hour, a demineralisation water plant for 1,350m3 per hour, and an effluent treatment plant with a capacity of 6,600 m3 per hour.

In July, Webuild’s US subsidiary Lane secured a $223m design-and-build contract to boost the safety and operational efficiency of the I-275/I-4 highway interchange in Tampa, Florida, US.
This highway interchange is used by 200,000 vehicles daily.
The contract was awarded by the Florida Department of Transportation.
The work under the contract involves widening, changing and realigning ramps; updating signage; and erecting noise barriers. Construction is slated to commence in 2023.
