The Texas Department of Transportation has chosen Webber, the US construction subsidiary of Ferrovial, to construct two sections of road in Guadalupe and Hays counties for $161.5m.
The first of the projects features expansion of IH-10, an urban interstate freeway, by 7.8km in Guadalupe County.

This project includes construction of two new main lane overpasses and three frontage road bridges, besides reconstruction of adjacent roads and intersections at Zuehl and Santa Clara roads.
Its construction work is expected to commence in March 2022 and complete in about 50 months.
Webber will also construct a 10.1km road in Hays County.
This project involves the construction of four bridges. It is expected to take 24 months and will commence in March 2022.

It was recently awarded a $1.5bn contract to widen I-35 in San Antonio.
In the recent months, it was also chosen to rebuild a section of I-35 in Texas for $81m and to renovate and rebuild highway FM 1960 in Houston for $70m.
Ferrovial stated that these contracts contribute to its Horizon 24 plan, which identifies the US as a core market.
It has been operating in the US for more than 15 years, and has built important infrastructures such as the Dallas-Fort Worth managed lanes and segments of the SH 99 Grand Parkway in Houston.
