Ferrovial, via its construction subsidiary, has secured a contract to construct 29.7km of highway between the departments of Ancash and La Libertad, in Peru.
This project work will be undertaken in consortium with Acciona.

The contract is valued at $116m.
The project consists of construction of a two-lane highway as an extension of the current Pan-American Highway, three roundabouts, eight level crossings and ancillary roads, and replacement of irrigation systems.
This work is expected to be completed in 24 months.
The new section of road is expected to bolster communications in the region and reliable travel times and also have a positive impact on road safety.

By GlobalDataThis award is considered a milestone in Ferrovial’s Horizon 24 plan, under which it categorised Peru as one of its important geographies and a key for developing, building and managing sustainable infrastructure.
The contract follows on from the one secured in 2020 to construct the control tower and six ancillary buildings at Jorge Chávez International Airport in Lima, which was the first contract for Ferrovial in Peru.
Since 2011, the firm has implemented nine projects in Peru under its “Social Infrastructure” programme, marking an investment of over €1.3m.
According to the firm, about 29,000 people have benefited from these initiatives.
