Construction and civil engineering firm Peab has secured a contract worth $21.9m (SEK191m) to construct a new production facility for Koenigsegg’s car manufacturing in Ängelholm, Sweden.
PEKO Fastighets, jointly owned by Peab and Koenigsegg’s parent company, has awarded the contract.

Koenigsegg’s current production and development centre of its customised sports cars is located in Ängleholm in a production plant, which is owned by PEKO Fastighets.
Now, Peab will be responsible for the construction of another production facility in connection to the existing production plant.
The new 11,000m2 facility at Valhall Park will have a production hall, offices, personnel space, event space as well as a showroom for new car models.
Construction work of the new production facilities is scheduled to commence this month.

In a separate development, Peab was also awarded a $57.5m (SEK500m) contract by Kunskapsporten to construct a new swimming pool and fitness centre in Kalmar, Sweden.
The new 15,000m2 facility will include a swimming pool, a rehab pool, a family pool, two training pools, gym, spa and restaurant.
Construction work of the new swimming pool and fitness centre is scheduled to begin end of this year with completion anticipated in the summer of 2025.
