A joint venture of Acciona and Daelim has secured a contract worth $656m from Department of Transportation of the Philippine government to construct a railway line in the country.
Under the contract, the Acciona-led joint venture will be responsible for the construction of a second section of the railway line which will link the Malolos city with Clark International Airport in the Philippines, 80.5km north of Manila.

Acciona said that the work on the project also includes the construction of a railway line with a 16km overpass that will take about four years.
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Japan International Cooperation Agency are providing financing for the project.
Earlier this year, Acciona has also secured a €330m contract to build another section of the same project, which is the last 6.5km of railway access to Clark International Airport.
At present, the travel between Manila and Clark International Airport can only be made by bus on public transportation which will take a minimum travel time of more than three hours.

Acciona is now building the Follo Line in Oslo, Norway for the Norwegian Railway Authority and it is expected to become the longest railway tunnel in Scandinavia when completed.
It has also designed and developed the Dubai Metro Red Line expansion which runs between Rashidiya and UAE Exchange (Jebel Ali), passing Dubai International Airport, though Deira and Bur Dubai, and then following the Sheikh Zayed Road.
The company has constructed the metro lines in Santiago, Chile, and Quito, Ecuador in Latin America and also built several metro lines in Madrid and Barcelona in Spain.
It is now developing the 650m-long Cebu-Cordova cable-stayed bridge that will connect Cebu City and Mactan International Airport in the Philippines.
