Foster + Partners has unveiled the design for the new Le Dôme winery in Saint-Émilion, Bordeaux, France.
The building’s design complements the region’s UNESCO World Heritage Cultural Landscape.

Visitors can enter the winery along a tree-lined avenue, at the end of which will be a circular building.
The form of the building will look both inwards and outwards and aims to offer an efficient space for wine production.
The winery will feature a combination of two ramps. The external ramp emphasises the link with the site, while the internal ramp will enable visitors to walk through the different stages of the wine process, giving the new building its spatial definition.
The two ramps will lead up to a gallery on the upper level, which will form the main part of the building, with an elegant wine bar and entertainment spaces offering 360° views of the adjoining vineyards.

Château Teyssier owner Jonathan Maltus said: “This is an exciting new chapter for the Château. We have some ambitious projects to complete in the next few years and we could not be more delighted to have Foster + Partners leading the design process for the winery at Le Dôme.
“The whole team, many who have been with me since the beginning, see this as great reward for their efforts over the years.”
The primary investor in the project is J&T Finance Group.
