Multiplex has been selected as the main contractor for 99 City Road, a 36-storey commercial tower planned at the intersection of Old Street and the City of London in the UK.
Endurance Land, a member of the Nan Fung Group, has made the formal appointment ahead of construction starting in Q3 2026. The project is scheduled to reach practical completion by 2030.

The proposed development will provide 475,000ft² of commercial space, designed to accommodate around 4,000 occupiers.
The tower aims to offer uninterrupted 360-degree views across London and serve innovation-led businesses with flexible floor plans and increased power capacity to meet varied operational requirements.
According to Endurance Land, the project’s design incorporates principles of sustainability, social value, resilience and adaptability, with a focus on tenants’ needs.
Plans for the building include facilities such as a triple-height event space, a wellness suite, dining options, conference lounges, private terraces and a makerspace. There are also end-of-trip provisions for occupiers.
The developer is working alongside the London Borough of Islington to promote social cohesion and community impact through the scheme.
99 City Road targets several industry sustainability benchmarks, including BREEAM Outstanding, SmartScore, NABERS 5-star, and WiredScore Platinum certifications, to integrate circular economy and whole-life considerations throughout the project.

Multiplex’s appointment follows its previous participation as construction partner on the scheme under a pre-construction services Aagreement.
This builds on a prior collaboration for Endurance Land’s Jahn Court and Brassworks projects, located at Regent Quarter, which have been leased to OpenAI and are expected to open in 2027.

Last month, Multiplex was appointed main contractor for Derwent London’s 50 Baker Street development, a 236,000ft² office-led, mixed-use scheme in Marylebone.
