Skanska has secured a contract worth £199m ($267.1m) from pensions administrator Railpen to provide construction and mechanical and electrical engineering services for Botanic Place, a commercial office development in Cambridge, UK.

Botanic Place entails a total investment of £242m. It will feature two buildings offering roughly 31,000m² of workspace.

This development also includes the restoration of the former Flying Pig pub and will provide 3,700m² of terraces across various levels for both private and communal activities.

The project aims to obtain Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM) Outstanding, WELL Platinum, and WiredScore Platinum ratings.

The construction, which has already begun, is set for completion by early 2028.

The contract will be recorded in Skanska's European order bookings for the second quarter of 2025.

The company, which is engaged in project development and construction, operates across Europe and North America.

The company recently signed a contract with the National Highway Authority of Czechia for the I/12 Běchovice-Úvaly bypass near capital Prague. This highway bypass will span 12.6km and include 23 bridges and six multilevel crossings.

Project construction on the bypass will begin in July 2025, with anticipated completion by the end of 2027.

In February 2025, Skanska secured a deal with Tata Steel for civil and structural design and project management services for an electric arc furnace project in Port Talbot, UK. This contract will be led by Skanska’s technology team in Bridgend, South Wales.
