Parkview Health has commenced construction on a new full-service hospital and medical office building in West Lafayette, Indiana, US, following a groundbreaking ceremony attended by company representatives, community partners and local officials.
The approximately $200m project is situated near the intersection of N 100 W and Kalberer Road, on land acquired from the Purdue Research Foundation.
First announced in July 2025, the facility will cover nearly 200,000ft² and include up to 40 inpatient beds.
Planned features include a 24/7 emergency department, speciality care, surgical and procedural services, lab and imaging departments, as well as a wide range of outpatient offerings. The campus is designed with provisions for future expansion.
The adjoining medical office building will provide primary and speciality care for area residents.
Parkview Health said the development is expected to create about 250 healthcare jobs and improve access to medical services in West Lafayette, Tippecanoe County and nearby communities.
Parkview Health growth markets chief physician executive Dr Greg Johnson said: “A year ago, we shared our vision for bringing a full-service hospital to West Lafayette. Today, we're turning that vision into reality.
“This community is expanding rapidly, and healthcare infrastructure needs to keep pace. We're excited to begin building a hospital that will expand access to emergency, inpatient and speciality care close to home for the people of Tippecanoe County.”
Parkview Health chief growth markets officer John Bowen said: “From the beginning, our goal has been to become a trusted healthcare partner in West Lafayette.

“Expanding access to high-quality healthcare is an important part of that commitment. This hospital will strengthen the quality of life that makes West Lafayette such a special place to call home while helping meet the healthcare needs of our community for generations to come.”
In the interim, Parkview Health intends to open a primary care clinic on Cumberland Avenue in October.
The new hospital is scheduled to begin operations in June 2028.
