The New York City Department of Design and Construction (NYCDDC) has awarded civil engineering company NV5 Global a contract to design pedestrian safety improvements along Lexington Avenue in New York, US.

The estimated value of the contract is $7m.

The scope of this project comprises engineering design, project management, and inspection services for the duration of three years across Lexington Avenue from 41st to 49th Street and 49th Street from Lexington Avenue to Third Avenue.

The upgrades include the installation of traffic calming measures, Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant walking paths, accessible pedestrian signals and drainage enhancements, and subsurface utility infrastructure improvements to support the recent Midtown rezoning. 

NV5 has offered professional design and resident engineering inspection services to the NYCDDC since the department’s founding in 1996.
