Construction equipment manufacturer Liebherr will soon introduce the R 915 Compact, which is set to replace the current R 914 Compact in its range of crawler excavators.

The manufacturer first presented the R 915 Compact at the Bauma trade fair in Munich last year.

Liebherr states that the new model offers enhanced performance, greater versatility, and improved operator comfort, all while maintaining the compact size necessary for working in tight urban spaces.

“With its upgraded architecture and refined operating precision, the R 915 Compact is designed to meet the evolving expectations of construction professionals and to extend Liebherr’s leadership in the compact segment,” the company said in a statement.

The R 914 Compact, available since 2018 and produced in Colmar, France, is currently recognised as Liebherr’s smallest crawler excavator.

It features an operating mass of 14.9 tonnes (16.42 US-t) and is powered by a Tier 4f engine rated at 90kW (122HP).

Designed for use on urban and confined construction sites, the machine incorporates a short tail swing for operation in limited spaces.

Liebherr has equipped the R 914 Compact to support daily operations with features such as maintenance access from ground level and an automatic central lubrication system intended to reduce time spent on servicing tasks.

Standard specification includes an air-suspended operator seat and a camera system providing all-round visibility.

A displayed configuration of the R 914 Compact features a 2,000mm undercarriage equipped with 500mm rubber track pads, a 2.8-tonne counterweight, a 4.60m monoboom, and a 2.65m stick.

With the introduction of the R 915 Compact, Liebherr expects to deliver increased efficiency, optimised ergonomics, and improved serviceability, while maintaining compact dimensions suitable for urban construction sites.
